This is what happens when I don't blog for a long time!

Ok... So this isn't necessarily a very wordy blog... but TONS of pictures... So have fun!

Emily - Lilly's own personal photographer - and one of my students from CDA took more pictures of Lilly and they are beautiful!!! She amazes me every time she does these!! Thanks Emily!

I got my haircut!! I have yet to take a good picture of it... but I LOVE it! Danielle Christiansen did it... and I would recommend you to her in a heart beat!! She has her own hair salon in the basement of her house and she is just so professional and she does an AMAZING job! Plus she's lot's of fun to chat with! Anyway, I went with the "Pink" hair cut cause I figured when am I ever going to be able to do this again? Why not... it's just hair and if I don't like it it will grow out! But I'm loving it!! It's so much fun... I can do so many things with it.. and at the same time I don't HAVE to do anything with it!

Front and Center dance went to competition this year and it was my first experience with a competition. I was very nervous!! I had 3 solo's that I choreographed this year and took to competition. Savanna did a really fun ballet solo. She competed against herself and won Gold!!Sophia did a beautiful solo to Romeo and Juliet and won 2nd place out of 4! So proud of her!! Lizzy competed her lyrical dance to Ben Folds "Luckiest" against 5 other dancers and got 1st place!!! I was so proud!!! I didn't get a picture with Sophia.. but we have another competition next weekend so I'll be sure to get one then.

On Saturday the teams competed. They all did such a good job!! I was so proud!! They all competed so many dances I don't remember what got what.. So I'll just tell you how they did with my dances. The Juniors competed Juliana Theory part 1 and they competed against themselves and they received High Silver! The Seniors competed Juliana Theory part 2 against themselves and they got Gold! So proud!!

New Hair Cut

K, So now that I got used to having short hair, I LOVE it... and I'll probably keep it short for a while cause there are so many fun things you can do with short hair. I'm going to embark on an even shorter cut now though, and I can't decide between these two cuts... I will eventually do both of them, but I don't know which one to do first... I would ask Steve, but his response to this kind of stuff is always.."You look good no matter what you do with your hair!" So I need all of your guys's opinion!

#1 This is a picture of Pink, and I know with her tats and piercings and stuff it looks really hard core, but you have to picture it on me.. plus it probably wouldn't be bleach blonde.. unless you all think I should be a blondie again!!

#2 I love this sweet girly look, but I'm a little weary about the short bangs... I have some bad after pregnancy acne that seems to ONLY be on my forehead, but I'm sure that will go away soon...

PLEASE tell me what you think!

Good Morning!

So Lilly has been sleeping through the night now... (from about 8 ish pm to about 8 ish am... Seriously... she doesn't wake up for 12 hours).. and honestly, my favorite part about it is the mornings. When she wakes up in the morning, she doesn't cry for me or anything, all she does is sit in her crib talking to her "cuddle" (the little blanky she chews on) or the butterfly printed on her bumper. Usually when I walk in to get her, she looks up at me and gives me this HUGE smile, but it's really hard to capture on camera. Anyway, this always brightens my day so hopefully it will brighten yours!

Hernia Steve - The Adventures of Surgical Socks and Morphine

1/23/2009 2:30 pm - Steve goes to see the surgeon to evaluate his hernia. Steve has had a hernia since his mission and because he went to see the doctor while he didn't have insurance, they considered it a pre-existing condition, and wouldn't cover it until we waited the waiting period. It was painful for both of us... him because of his hernia, me because I had to do a lot of the heavy lifting because Steve was unable... remember, I was pregnant most of the time! Anyway, they set the surgery date for Feb 5. The surgical center was supposed to call him the day before with instructions. Steve was nervous, but he's a big boy so he dealt with it.

2/4/2009 - No call.

2/5/2009 8:46 am - I make Steve call the hospital and figure out what's going on. Apparently someone told a nurse that Steve had cancelled his surgery... it was really dumb.

2/5/2009 9:32 am - Hospital calls and says that they were able to schedule Steve a surgery at 11:15 and he needed to be there at 10:15.

2/5/2009 10:24 am - Arrive at the hospital after a mad dash to get everybody ready. I immediately start bugging Steve because I can tell he's really nervous to have surgery and my only goal was to prevent him even thinking about it. He signs in and we wait, and wait, and wait...

2/5/2009 11:15 am - Still waiting.

2/5/2009 11:45 am - Still waiting.

2/5/2009 11:52 am - They finally called Steve's name and he went back to get prepped for surgery.

2/5/2009 12:13 pm- Lilly and I were able to go back and see him before they take him into the OR. He has on his cute little hospital dress and what he called later his "ugly wig" (a blue hair cap.) He has his IV in and they were draining some liquid into him, which I thought was happy juice, cause he seemed a lot happier, but we found out that it was just regular fluid. Steve was just nervous! He was a big boy though... very brave!

2/5/2009 12:36 pm - They wheel him back into the OR and Lilly and Mommy say goodbye and good luck! I go run some errands, go to the bank, get something to eat, clean the car out... fun stuff like that.

2/5/2009 1:29 pm - I return to the hospital and the surgery is still not done. And I wait, and wait and wait.

2/5/2009 2:34 pm - The surgeon comes out in a hoodie and says all sorts of really specific things like "Yeah it was pretty good. Set an appointment for like a week or two.. and uh.. just make him take it easy k?" Real winner of a doctor....

2/5/2009 3:12 pm - I am allowed to go see Steve. He is REALLY pale and REALLY out of it. He asked me what I did during the surgery about six times. After the first time, I just started messing with him... telling him I went to a Backstreet Boys concert, I went skydiving.. all sorts of tun stuff. The 6th time I told him I went to the Circus... and he finally opened his eyes and said... bull crap! He was in a lot of pain so they game him a TON of drugs... which took the pain away, but made him too sleepy to get up and walk around and do some of the stuff that he needed to do in order to go home. Not only that, but since they made him so sleepy, he wasn't breathing like he should have, so his oxygen level was really low. And then for some reason, he was REALLY pale, so even when Steve felt up to it, she wouldn't let him stand up because she was aftraid he was going to pass out.

2/5/2009 4:38 pm - Steve slept.

2/5/2009 6:43 pm - Steve slept. Lilly was being a fussball, so I put her in her carseat and started carrying her around which was heavy... One of the nurses felt bad for me so she grabbed a wheelchair and put her car seat in it so I could just wheel her around. She fell asleep like that.

2/5/2009 6:51 pm - We were finally cleared to go home, but Steve was still asleep, so we had to wait for him to wake up. After he was awake we got him dressed and signed some paperwork.

2/5/2009 7:12 pm - We finally got out of the hospital!!! As we were driving home, I realized that I would not be able to take care of Steve by myself. He needed a prescription filled which would take half an hour, he needed someone to be with him nonstop, he couldn't be left by himself. He was in pain in the car... it was not somewhere he could stay while we waited for the prescription... and not only that, but Lilly was screaming in the back. She needed to go home, have a bath and a bottle and go to bed. I couldn't leave her in the house with just Steve too, cause he wouldn't be able to help her. I felt very overwhelmed and unprepared... and kinda helpless... We called Matt and Lauren and they said they would come help out. On our way home we stopped at Walgreens and submitted the prescription.

2/5/2009 7:46 pm - We arrive at home. Steve takes the stairs like a champ and plops his surgical bum on the couch which is where he resides right this moment.

2/5/2009 7:55 pm - Matt and Lauren arrive. They immediately start taking care of Lilly. They played with her, bathed her, and fed her! They were Godsend!

2/5/2009 8:07 pm - Chris, one of Steves Coworkers, came and brought us dinner. He was Godsend too... There was no way I would have been able to handle dinner as well... He brought us a ginormous bucket of fried chicken from KFC... Honestly... I'm so glad Steve works with such great people!

2/5/2009 9:02 pm - I have already returned home from picking up the prescription, gave Steve his pain medication, and put Lilly down to sleep. (Side note, she doesn't cry when she goes down to sleep anymore... all I have to do is walk into her room, give her her Cuddle - a little blanket - and say goodnight, and walk out. She doesn't cry, just puts herself to sleep!) After I go run to the store and buy some groceries for Steve, Matt and Lauren go home.

2/5/2009 Undetermined time - we sleep....

2/6/2009 3ish - I wake up and notice Lilly is still sleeping. I go check on her and she is still alive, just sleeping... amazing!

2/6/2009 5ish - Steve wakes up in a lot of pain... so much that he kept grabbing things and squeezing... He was trying really hard not to cry it was so bad. We gave him all the pain meds that we were allowed to, and waited together for them to kick in. Once they took effect, and he was passed out, I went to check on Lilly who still hadn't woken up at all... Since when does she sleep through the night???

2/6/2009 7:49 am - Lilly finally wakes up. I take her into the bedroom and nurse her until we both just... fell.... asl...eep...

2/6/2009 10:03 am - I wake up to find Steve sitting up on the couch watching tv as happy as he can be! He was able to stand up without help! It's been a rough road... Steve is still in some pain and he feels a little naseous sometimes, but he's doing an amazing job... he's gonna live!

Family Family Family

Ok... So I love my family very much and I'm glad that we've been able to spend a lot of time lately with them, but I've looked back at my last few posts, and it seems like all I've been blogging about lately is my family... it's just cause everybody keeps visiting!! I promise this is my last one. My sister had her baby!! They stil haven't named her yet, but her older brother Noah has temoporarily named her Lucy. Even though Sarah and Brad don't like that name permanently, it's kinda sticking, and if they don't name her soon, then they won't have a choice but to name her Lucy. Anyway, I'm excited Lilly finally has a girl cousin on my side! She's very pretty! Lucy was like 7 lbs 4 oz I think.. so Lilly was even smaller than her... I can't believe how big Lilly has gotten! Lilly went to the doctors and she was only 11 lbs 3 oz.. Still wittle for her age! By the way, I think 4 months is my favorite! She is figuring out how to roll over. She's been able to do it for a while now, but it only happens when she's MAD! She just barely did it for the first time happy today! I think she could do it if she wants, but she just doesn't really want to do it. Anyway, I'll leave you with some pictures of the babies!

This is little Lucy... Isn't she beautiful??

I like this picture because she just looks like... Oh man... Why did these three crazy boys have to come before me? Couldn't I have come first so that I could have had at least a little peace and quiet?

Mason loves his baby sister!

Here is the girl cousins!! She's so little comparatively!

And finally some cute pictures of my baby girl!

Monster Blog!!

I know I've written some long blogs in the past, but it's been a while since I've blogged so I have to catch up. First of all, I promised a blog dedicated to our dear friends Roy and Angie. When I first moved up to Orem to go to college I worked at Golden Corral, where I met Roy and Angie. They were pretty much the only sane people there, so we got along really well. Angie is the sweetest, and Roy... Sometimes I think of him as like, my uncle... I know that's weird... he'll probably make fun of me for that. Anyway, when I met Steve, Roy had to approve of him, so one day Steve came to pick me up from work, and we drove past Roy and Angie and stopped to talk for a second in passing. It was love at first sight. They had a mutual love of Dane Cooks comedic stylings. Since then Roy's man crush has grown.. mostly due to Steve's ability to woo just about anybody with his mad acoustic guitar skills! And since Steve can't resist a giant (and by that I mean tall...) bald (and by that I mean really short white blonde hair...) teddy bear... we pretty much hang out with them whenever we can! Over Christmas when we were driving down to St. George, and they were driving up to Orem, and we were going to miss their whole visit, we had to find some point along the route where we would cross paths, stop and hang out for a bit in some gas station. On our way there we didn't get to stop, however we were on the phone with them when we crossed eachother on the road... which was pretty coincidental... guess you had to be there... On our way back up and on their way back down, we got to stop in a little town called Toquerville... which Steve and Roy got a kick out of. It was such a momentous and memorable occasion, we decided to take a picture!!

They were able to come up for Lilly's blessing, and Roy was in our circle... He was very ticked off I didn't put this picture in the blog about her blessing... So here it is!

We also had the pleasure of spending the last night of the year with them! We went to first night and had a blast! We got there, stood in line for ice skating for about 5 minutes, but decided we didn't want to wait forever. We walked SEVERAL blocks to the Gateway mall (thanks Roy...) ate at the California Pizza Kitchen, which was delicious!

Then we took Trax back to the Gallivan center where we enjoyed...(endured??) endless amounts of Reggae music, sliding on ice, freezing cold, Fireworks, and our first New Years kiss.

I know this sounds like something we probably got a baby sitter for, but we didn't. Lilly was with us the whole time! And she slept the entire time! Yeah... even during the ridiculously loud fireworks! Anyway.. It was a blast! We love you Roy and Angie!!

Since then, the most exciting thing that has happened is COUSINS!! Lilly got to spend time with all but 3 cousins this year! When we went to California, Lilly got to meet Annalise.
On New Years Day, we went up and spent time with Noah, Wyatt, and Mason. Mason was entranced!! He LOVED Lilly! He held her hand, patted her on the head, and even kissed her cheek!

Lilly will have another cousin very soon! My sister is expecting a baby girl anytime now. Yay for a Girl!!

Then this last weekend, Heather and Brandon brought their son up for Dave (cousin) 's wedding open house! They were adorable!! We made them hold hands, but they liked it!

Corinn, I hope we get to see you soon! Lilly can't wait to meet you and her other cousins!
Last of all, I chopped my hair off... completely.. gone... bald... well, no not really bald, but definitly boyish... I went to my Father-in-laws cousin and told him he could do whatever he wanted. You give a man that much say in your hair and it's scary what they do. The cut is actually a nice cut, I just have to get used to it... I've never had this short of hair before. Ha... when he first styled it, it looked like I had a mushroom head, but I'm getting used to it a little bit more now! Honestly, I hated it at first, and it's still not my favorite thing, so don't be afraid to be honest... really it won't hurt my feelings... I hate it when people tell me something looks good and it's horrible! I had that happen once. I wanted to be a red head and I went to a hair school and my head turned out to be three distinct stripes of bright red, auburn and dark brown. Every single student came and told me how gorgeous my hair was... bull. Anyway, that's the end of my monster blog... hope it wasn't torture!
